La Brazilian will be an adaptive reuse hotel that will consist of various occupancies throughout the space. The purpose of this project is to design a mix occupancy space to highlight the Brazilian culture, while focusing on accessibility and green design. The space is made to be welcoming and colorful, as Brazil is known for its rich and diverse culture. The clients goal includes the use of sustainable materials for the construction, following codes and LEED standards, making the space resemble the Brazilian culture, and optimizing the use of the shipping containers. These are the main goals that the clients wish to fulfill for their space and would highly influence the space and bring positive results.

The intent of the design of La Brazilian is to showcase and highlight the Brazilian culture. Specifically, the intended design should create a friendly and open atmosphere that many can enjoy and relate to. The space should invoke a relatable feeling from each person, which would indirectly lead to a more pleasing and welcoming environment for all. The approach to attain this type of space will start with the selection of natural materials. An emphasis will be placed on natural and sustainable materials for the space, such as wood and recycled cotton. The principles and elements of design will also be used to set the ambience and mood of the space, and green design will be implemented for betterment of the surrounding environment. Overall, this will be a nurturing and accessible space for everyone that will boost and highlight the beautiful and rich Brazilian culture.
